Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Fire co. is reorganizing again!

So our TM told us today to expect a survey in the next couple of days about our interest in moving to Proximity. Said they're hiring over 600 CS jobs and over 80 Team Manager jobs in field locations all over the US. They said it was staffing neutral and if they do not get enough people they will hire from the outside. That means probably some buyout opportunities coming that way for Fire company. There will not be a lot of takers for the Proximity jobs! They will have to shed at least 300-400 Claims specialist and 40-50 Team Managers to keep it staffing neutral. With the new SFPSP program coming in and more AI, most in Fire company are done. Better get your self ready!

If their lips are moving, they are lying! Remember these are evil people! They have destroyed SF and it is getting worse and worse! Leave as soon as you can! Claims is just completely toxic regardless of the area and it will only get worse too! They hired horrific people to do jobs they are not qualified for and they are not changing direction. Hub locations continue to be the worst decision ever made and this is not fixable! Continue to go down the toilet!

Just be careful folks what you buy. What they advertise and what reality is are two different things. They are politicians and are never to be trusted.

Proximity CS you need to reside in the zip codes near the region. So this wouldnt be a "lets move people into these roles" type of situation. My guess is, after years of trying to get rid of needing proximity CS they have decided they do in fact need local adjusters.

Seems like this tread is sort of over the top for simply the company looking to hire about 50 people locally across the country....what 1 per state? Thats not a huge deal. They always seem to be hiring in some zip codes too....so not sure how many extra this is but seems like nothing....

Yeah no sorry, just because someone in company said something once doesnt mean you should spam the living daylights out of it like its some kind of cannon. It makes you REALLY stand out here and someone with an axe to grind, which you clearly do. Not advocating for the company just the people who ruin this website and try to turn it into some reddit type place where people just blast BS non stop. No one cares about your 2040 stuff is what im getting at. 9 months left eh? how many decades after that will you be lurking here spamming about burgers and the year? Swear this site brings out some sad individuals.

I have 9 more months at this sh-t hole! Cancelled my policies long ago including all my friends and family. I tell everyone I meet to never do business with State Farm. Oh and for whoever said stop the 2040 stuff you must not work at SF or you must be the "2040". Search on the internet and you can find one of our tops Executive telling a girl he was on a date with (while he is married) that he instructs his team "TO ONLY HIRE PEOPLE THAT LOOK LIKE 2040! go watch the video, the video is very easy to find! 10 minutes in any department at State Farm and it looks like 2060! Discrimination is never right! So no, don't stop the 2040 stuff whoever keeps posting it!

I held every role in fire. CS, cat, proximity, hurricane TM, reinspector and even claims audits! Loved every role til on proximity and they decided to punish hard working with work in other states.

Sure we have 50 people who did their jobs, and closed their claims. No time off, have them sign in and help texas.

So glad i could retire! My peers all worked hard and climbed most anything!

After being a policyholder for 40 years we’re considering moving to another carrier.

Burger King McInsurance Mutual Company! They need to just go ahead and rename the company. Put a paper Crown and red clown nose on Ole Jake and maybe run a couple more Livin on a Prayer and Half Way there Insurance company commercials! Jet right past 2040 and go straight to 2060! LOL! State Farm is just pure trash..... this place is not even a legitimate company anymore....laughing joke!

All of claims is the same thing. Doing everything they can to force out wfh employees and replace with hub employees that don't stay. Who could blame them. But the metrics are making employees miserable. We are micro managed and monitored to death. Literally have to have a very low idle time and you are just tied to this computer. Not even enough bathroom breaks. Its all just so ridiculous. When they lose too many wfh then what? Employees hired in the hubs from McDonald's going to keep this going? This company has turned into a big joke.

We have to send most roof inspections to third parties, as the new generation of workers are not willing or able to climb a step roof. State Farm does not want the Workers Comp exposure too when the 2040 "star employee" falls off the roof. Also when they combined the Fire Prox role many of the CS still left are too old and fat to climb a roof. SF hired a Burger King and Amazon warehouse worker workforce, they do not want to pay for talent and still do not want to pay for talent. Moving everyone back to Prox is the right step forward except it is too late. They still don't understand you get what you pay for, you are just shifting the 2040 DEI problem from in-office out to the field....going to even be a wilder ride to watch! SF you can't undo what you have done without spending allllllottttt of money!

I mean how would you feel, cost of policy keeps going up, then you have a claim, the insurance company you pay lots of money to then sends some random 3rd party guy out to do their work. Then claims works their "magic" and now we have one less home policy and someone ticked off online about us.

Good thing weve delegated the important customer facing insurance stuff to whoever will do it the cheapest...rather than in house.

I'm just so tired of playing role merry go round due to our "leaders" having zero capability to staff departments and knowing they put ZERO effort in retaining people, makes it all the more frustrating.

I truly hate our "leaders".

Its just the current planned disaster department. Claims will always have one department the TMs are chasing everyone they can out then proclaiming we need internals as the department burns under poor leadership and mismanagment.

Usually its total loss specialist, prox cs, and injury T1 that are the planned dumpster fires that no one bothers retaining or trying in. Just be sure to ignore or laugh at your PROX CS's first TM meeting where your tm proudly states retention is his/her big focus. They all say that then do nothing, in fact they chase people out.

Also, our managers need to drop the company wrecking six sigma approach, you dont need to bare bones every damn department with staff, to help a drowning department, your just going to need to hire in 6 months anyway. Trust me, ive watched this cycle happen for over 10 years now. Department is purposely made a mess, workers flee out the company, another department is just fine, properly staffed *now we need to get rid of people here because other department needs** chase people out, rehire in department that lost people to claims, repeat.

Our AI cannot understand letters and numbers. The navi system, is giving people straight up false info....and our managers froth at the mouth using these tools to have less workers.

What a sad company this has become. All to game metrics at an executive level.

Yes SF hired a 2040 McBurger Workforce in Dallas, Phoenix and Atlanta, that don't even know how to change the battery in their smoke detectors or put air in their tires much less argue with a contractor about, roofs, drywall, structural damages, or water mitigation. Quantrell , Cinnamon and Laquifah are not the answer! SF you get what you pay for!

Seems like something about HO Fire hasn’t been working well because almost all of the complaints people have about SF on Twitter have to do with their HO claims. They probably have to pivot a little.

Actually it will be in most situations if not all situations. AI is now even more accurate examining medical scans/MRIs than human doctors. Even according to critics, AI will surpass human intelligence by 2027. When it is integrated with Quantum computing it will be thousands of times smarter than any human. Robotics and AI will be able to do anything we can and will do it better.

@gm I was a proximity adjuster. I saw the push with the new PSP program. I know about the AI integration. If the higher ups cared they would stop telling adjusters to use these things despite how bad they are. Instead we were told that if we did not use them we would be reprimanded. The only thing that will guarantee job security is the turnover. If you are willing to eat sh-t every day and be miserable, you can keep your job. But the turnover should let you know how many people are willing to do that. Most proximity adjusters I talked to did not like the job.

@bq in 10 years over half of the current non cat prox adjustors will be retired. And the PSP program has been around for 10 years and works ...meh...at best. Not enough contractors in most markets and the contractors have a difficult time keeping up with the work.

Also funny to see some of my teammates talked about posting....I'm dying laughing. Most can't write an estimate now and hardly make it out of bed to come to work. They think they are going climb a roof or handle a total house fire claim. Most are so stupid and lazy they are on the verge of getting fired. Always having to get peer assist with their inventories. They are probably going to move the in-office problems to the field! State Farm still doesn't understand you can't hire a 2040 Burger King workforce and have any kind of quality customer service.

For those who think proximity will provide more job security, remember that they have been investing in AI and this new SFPSP program. You will need fewer adjusters if contractors are writing scopes that you just need to review and approve. They are also feeding your file notes, scopes, and documentation to have programs learn repair scopes. Xactimate is piloting programs that write repair estimates from photos alone. They are sending people to the field but do I would not expect them to need all these adjusters in 5-10 years.
