When an employer doesn't value the employees, don't value the employer. Do the bare minimum. That's what I am going to do from now on because I'll probably be laid off too. Put in 60% of the effort and treat this as a part-time severance while you look for work from an employer who doesn't brag about profits and then lay off hundreds without cause.
Lack of accountability combined with laying off hard workers sounds like a tempting opportunity to some to push employees to subtly ask to do the extra work on weekends and encash on the shock value and it may seem to be work

Don’t put in any meaningful effort, it won’t pay off the way we all hope it will. These rolling layoffs will continue covertly to continue funding AI.
