May you have spent the holidays productively, since layoffs are probably on the menu this month and every month of 2023 as Oracle attempts to turn Cerner into its latest cash cow. Update that resume, reach out to new contacts, get new skills, and be your best. It’s a fresh year… and the same old Oracle.

LE will not be emotionally devastated by anything. He doesn't care, he just doesn't. You and I are like small insignificant gnats bothering him. Employees can just be swatted away. They are nothing compared to HIM.
LE will be emotionally devastated because you did not wish him a happy new year. He will be lamenting forever in his superyacht or his private island, surrounded by luxury, unable to stop thinking about your post, reading it over and over again in tears.
I am also highly skeptical that a company will try to profit from one of its subsidiaries. This does not sound logical to me.
