Some simple math:

  • Google finance profile for META shows 78K employees
  • 20% affected by layoffs and transfers: 78,000 x 0.2 = 15,600 employees affected
  • 7,000 employees transferred: 15,600 -7,000 = 8,600 employees to be laid off
