I keep thinking the day is coming (probably sooner rather than later) when they’ll cut that too, and layoffs will become ten times harder on people. Finding a new job already isn’t easy in this market, but having a solid safety net while you search makes a huge difference.

What exactly is the severance? Is it 2 weeks per year of tenure or 6 months minimum no matter how many years you were here?
I hear severance it 6 months to avoid WARN notices and brand / media coverage.
