Looks like smaller, frequent rounds will be the new normal

The way this round went down, I'm guessing we're looking at rolling layoffs. Small batches, all the time. And all the usual attrition tactics on top. All to make sure we never get a moment's peace.

From what I understand, “management” (any non union) can declare a surplus as often as every month if they want to.

Union/CWA can only declare a surplus per quarter, outside of any “no layoff” clause after signing, which can be for up to 1 year after ratification for all bargained employees.

Tell customer service reps to RTO and you get alot of those people to quit cause then they will have to really work.

@b8 you are so right! I’ve been looking out for warn notices.
I was laid off from Frontier on 5/6. They eliminated the entire D2D reps across the nation.

I think this is a strategy for every quarter for the earnings - cutoff headcount and stabilize financials.

Why not remove duplicates who just keeps making slides and makes plan who has no clue what is actually going on at bottoms layer… so many duplicates- sr. Dir, AVP, vP, svp…. Removing some of these layers itself can get them millions back that VZ would have to RIF hundreds of actual employees whose work matter.
