You can ask my old friend who our manager contacted while on maternity leave during a round years ago.
How about sabbaticals for us poor su-kers picking up the slack. We pay into it and don’t get the benefit.

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) does not protect employees from changes in employment that would have occurred anyway, such as a company-wide layoff or elimination of their position.
No, they are lawfully protected and have to come back to the same or very similar role. Unless their whole unit is closing it would be almost impossible to justify their layoff because of this operating model change
Yes - there are people on LoA that will be affected. Your Manager or their Manager will get in touch with you tomorrow. This goes for people on PTO as well.
