Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

No manager is a double edged sword

I have a manager in WFHM that I love. I get my work done. We go over branch inspection 10 minutes every month- our only meet up. I never have a one/one, never have team meetings, never receive evaluation, no reports etc. I don't know who is on my team without looking them up. Now comes upper management saying to make sure to update Workday with your work desires and work history because we will be transitioning in 1Q23. Welp! Do what in Workday to keep my job? Boss doesn't understand what they're asking for. Do I throw boss under bus and ask their boss what they want?

Not necessarily. Sometimes Wells moves entire groups of people to different jobs, in order to avoid laying them off.

I have seen people who are deployed are saved. Whoever doesn’t move —manager in your case—will be gone on a Thursday.

Careful. Being “redeployed” has been the first step to a group layoff. When you get the info about the “new job” see if the end date is on a Thursday…

Transitioning to what? I would ask my boss for additional information in order to understand the request. Send an email so that way you have a written response.
