With the announcement this morning that they're sending so many people to the bench at the end of the BID contract on May 18th, I'm fully expecting a layoff of several hundred people shortly thereafter. Time on the bench before getting a lack of work letter hasn't been very long in recent history.

I was placed on the Bench on May 1st. Not sure how long I have. It's been pretty tough finding internal work. I've sent out over 50 emails so far inquiring about jobs in other Booz Allen groups. I've received two replies as of today. Doesn't seem like people "not in your shoes" are willing to help you find new work.
What is bad about being placed on the Bench is that people on the bench are not given priority for internal job postings. This seems to happen to a lot of people on the bench. So when CEO preaches all the traits BAH people, including hiring managers are to live by you got to wonder if many take these serious.
