Any kind of severance or at least unemployment?
I dont think I will make it.

@k1 biweekly meetings and updates .the stress and pressure....all drains you and makes the job search harder for you
@k1 you get 90 days pay with the PIL, take the PIP only if you think you have a chance to pass, if you’re going to use the time to look for a job take the PIL and focus on the job search full time.
I got my lump sum and unemployment. After 50 you are eligible for lump sum but it is heavily discounted. I am now enjoying retirement and do not want to work again. I took the pil because I was destined to fail.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to just say yes to the plan and use that time for looking for a job? You still have to find a job right?
PIP is just a formality, they have made their decision already to sh----n you.
this is so true

Yes you get freedom and a second chance at life.
Look at it this way. Take the PIL and the 3 months pay - Sure Thing! Roll the dice, your supervisor falls your PIP, you get nothing/they get 3 more months out of you. It really depends how much you “trust” your boss. My new boss arrived 1 Jan (alleged HIPO) and there was no trust established by end July. In fact, he actually called me a few days after the assessment meeting to “sniff” things out under the false premise of “my
next assignment “. He dropped the news on a two-sided periodic status meeting …. Like he was talking out both sides of his mouth! So I played FAFO….had him believing I was heading for PIP until Commitment Day. All because of 1 little letter “s”….
@OP yes, you get your badge shut off.
Colleagues will probably go out for lunch the following week
It depends what country you are in. In countries that have protections for workers do give severance for failed pips
@OP boy are you stupid. No wonder you are NSI
@OP Sweetie when they put you on PIP its not like they are rewarding you they want you out. It's not promotion so no nothing. you can apply for unemployment when you are terminated as long as your termination is not because of "misconduct" and You get the money from state
If you fail the PIP you get nothing. The PIL or pay in lieu is the option to get paid for three months instead of trying to redeem yourself through the PIP or performance improvement plan. If you are on PIL or even fear it best to start looking now for a new job.
