A coworker mentioned he talked to his manager who told him to relax, no cuts planned for a while. I think this sounds too good to be true but one can hope. Has anybody else heard something like this?

@p4 Spill the tea! What's Queenie got planned?
Get ready infosec. Our leadership has been lying to us for years now. the grimm reaper is coming and some of us WILL lose our jobs. execs are totally untrustworthy and only focused on their own lives. ask anyone who works with me - no one trusts leadership in infosec.
Its a bot post, all the posts that ask about layoffs is an engagement bot, not to be confused with the one deranged person who lurks here and accounts for like half the threads and posts.
Also, state farm doesnt "lay off" they just close your office and force you to relocate, make your job so frustrating you leave, RTO a workforce that has repeatedly expressed they dont want to RTO....
SF too cowardly to fire on performance and people past retirement age, so we all suffer
@ad With the cost of fuel going up to $6-9+ per gallon, easily, IF you can get fuel at all (many predict it being rare at best) how is that supposed to work?
Now to see if they cut their rates commensurate with the cost savings. Hope so!
U/W is having huge layoffs...AKA transition plans. Auto/FIre ILR are going through transitions/layoffs. Customer support etc..... More is coming as it is going to be outsourced. JM/JF alluded to this in the Exec briefing about using outside vendors more. Also where do you think all this extra floor space is going to come from to put people back in the office at least 50% of the time. Be the end of 2027 unemployment in the US will be around 8-10% .....things are changing faster then you can even comprehend. This is currently the worst job market since the Great Recession and it is getting worse. In the next 3 years it will mirror or be worse than the Great Depression and I just don't think everyone realizes it yet. RTW will be the least of your concerns.
