Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

HUM down 53% in Two Years!

It's hard to believe Humana stock has been going down, down.... It used to be $544 three and a half years ago!! You can't say the company is doing great! It used to be a phenomenal company with brilliant and kind people. No more!! This happened in the past three years. Is this still a surprise that HR is letting people go? It's messed up.

They were convinced Humana was going to merge/be acquired by Aetna several years ago. A lot of the people brought on at the time -- including Broussard -- were there for that purpose. Pare us down and sell us off. Only it failed, and they were then sc--wed. Since then the whole board has turned over and the company is owned by activist investors, who are just trying to squeeze the last remaining juice. On top of this, the government's direction with Medicare and Medicaid -- both Dems and Republicans -- have sc--wed Humana at every turn and absolutely tanked our profit margins. It's all about shareholder value, baby.

Humana is effectively run by Bain Capital at this point. Nothing more than a cheaply flipped house, awaiting an unknowing buyer to sn---h it up. Then the C suite laughs their way to the bank, while we look for jobs.
