Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Every customer takes so long to help

Follett, i question your lack of labor when we all know that many students take at least 20 minutes to help because they are just not as together as the previous generations. How is a skeleton crew supposed to assist a bunch of hapless people?

Make sure you have every register going, a door greeter, someone stocking school supplies, pulling pick lists, fulfilling orders, bagging orders, stocking text, answering the phone, curbside pickup, shipping orders and oh don't forget you need someone walking the sales floor because good customer service lower chances of theft.

There are 4 employees on hourly payroll, 3 temps and 1 salaried store manager. No overtime with 200 hours of labor for rush (minus 160 for non temp staff which means 40 hours of temp payroll). No overtime but peak pay goes into effect so that extra $1.00 per hour is sufficient. Oh and don't forget the crew that is suppose to stay when the store closes to fulfil orders.

You can't make this sh-t up.

We usually have six registers going for rush. We're going to have our usual three because we're only being given 10 temps and half the payroll of prior years. They are also expecting us to have a crew work when we are closed to fulfill online orders. What crew????

I have no intention of busting my a-s. I'm just going to do what I do.

Don't forget to capture their emails too because Lord knows we have time for that when there's a line down the store!!
