Employers announced nearly 2,000 layoffs in Florida during February. Federal officials reported a national decrease of 92,000 jobs for the month. So far in 2026, Florida has seen 2,791 announced layoffs from over two dozen employers. This total represents a 36 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2025. The national unemployment rate slightly rose to 4.4 percent.
