Toxic place. Work that means nothing. Long days. Constant stress. Never feel safe. Old tech. Nowhere to grow. Raises that don't keep up. Bad bosses. Same thing every day. Skills going nowhere. What am I missing?

@fv, melon was squeaky clean??? Perhaps you missed the 2001 IRS Tax Return Destruction. Or Andrew Mellon’s Impeachment Inquiry. Or The Church vs. The Bank in the 80's. Or the 2001 Retail "Betrayal". Or the Urban "Removal" and Redlining. Or the funding of South African Apartheid. Or the Johnstown flood. etc, etc.
If you work at BNY for 5 years: you're a warrior and determined to persevere.
If you work at BNY for 10 years: you're desperate and can't give up having a paycheck.
If you work at BNY for 15 years: you're a masochist, and secretly enjoy being underappreciated and underpaid.
If you work at BNY for 20 years: you are figuratively dead spiritually and emotionally, and welcome death...literally.
@bq as a legacy Mellon Bank employee, the beginning of the downfall began when BoNY bought Mellon. Stems from a non-prosecution agreement BoNY entered into with the DOL. part of it included BoNY merging with a “squeaky clean” custody bank, which Mellon was. I was proud to work for Mellon, those were the good old days. BoNY destroyed all that.
It’s the sh-t 💩 hole that all the other sh-t holes 🕳️ dump into… I’ve worked at BAC, MS and others … nothing rivals this place for toxic, incompetent management and systems… it’s had a sh---y reputation for awhile, and. It’s gotten worse if that’s possible….?!
What a vile, disgusting bank. Get out get out while you can.
Bogus job postings that qualified candidates get rejected for! I know as a client what a 💩 show BNY really is, but the job posting scam takes the 🍰 for slimy sleazy behavior. People at BNY are getting laid off and BNY post jobs that don't exist to distract. SURE, keep my resume on file for future consideration of more fake jobs. 🤣
By far, the worst place I ever worked. People are toxic, mediocre and incompetent. Manager’s are autocratic and insecure. Tech is outdated and lack proper controls!
You're not missing anything. After years of constant stress, being overworked and under paid, and practically begging for help from my managers, I threw in the towel. My situation is such that I will be fine not working for a while and I know it's not that way for everyone, but leaving was the best thing I could do for myself. Take care of yourself because no one there will do that for you.
