Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Between now and Mid February

Just saw that at least one department that takes phone calls will have an early shift change. I’ve been here long enough to know that this happened before a layoff last time. Based on when shifts will be communicated the axe will most likely fall between now and mid February. Good luck and hopefully the severance is decent

This happens all the time in Customer Service. They change some shifts early to fill in customer call in pressure gaps. Also they make changes mid bid due to employee attrition, SMs leaving or being added and also new call types being added.

Hopefully is inside sales . I’m tired of all these embarrassing promotions I have to tell customers. .

Severance is standard. 2 weeks per year up service to a max of 35 weeks. But I agree with earlier poster. How does an early shift change signify a layoff?

Phrasing is kind of unclear. Are you saying that because a customer service department has an early shift there will be layoffs? Doesn’t make sense, please explain
