Work tracking - work phone

Does taking meetings from the phone and using outlook on phone to check email count towards activity usage?

I do this frequently when commuting in the train and am wondering if this contributes towards activity usage?

@vs OP here. Thank you! That's exactly what I was wondering. Activity tracking for phone apps.

Not sure why everyone is fixated on hours in office. Its obvious not taking a meeting in office wouldn't count.

Most of these posts are wrong. Yes. Using Teams and Outlook on your phone counts as activity.

This is separately reported from in office days and hours in office.

There are three metrics being reported on. Days in office, hours in office and activity.

I know people that would work while taking the train to and from the office but they stopped doing that because the mandate is eight hours IN the office. Not eight hours working total you have to be in the office eight hours. If you want to work while you’re on the train that is up to you, but that will not count against your in office expectation.

to register as "in office" you have to be - in the office. Badge into a location or connect your laptop to the network from an office location. That's all.

ummm....just doing something on your phone won't count. They track by IP and location. If your activity was counted, then so would working from home be counted. They don't count that.
In office hours only....at least near as I can tell. While in office they may tweak by using MS worker tracking, but that's the icing on their cake.
Soon, you will need to put a 50lb bag of rice on your chair if you go to the bathroom. Seat sensors are on their way to your location!!

I was told if you have BYOD installed on your personal phone & log into outlook, teams , etc that you are “logged into the network “ for tracking. It won’t count towards in office though. Who knows honestly.
