It's really that simple for me. Pay me for the extra hours I'll be wasting in commute, pay me for the gas, pay me for other unnecessary expenses I'll be having, and I'll be happy to return to the office. And don't tell me I am already paid for that. I was paid for that but then things changed. They changed for the better and now they want to take us backward. If they want to do that, then make it worth our while.

The issue is that employers view your current pay as the RTO pay. A lot of firms have stated that employees that wfh permanently would take a pay cut from that amount. 10-20%. You are delusional if you think you will get a pay raise to stay at home for your current job (regardless of the industry). Hard truth. Sorry.
I was hired for a remote role before Covid. Now they are pushing us back into office. The only reason they are doing this is to cut as many employees as possible before the next layoff. The more people who quit or are fired minimized the amount of severance packages the bank pays out.
Don't take this wrong, but if you work in a Branch you're the banking industries equivalent of a burger flipper. You can do better!
Thousands of us were WFH before COVID was a glimmer in Fauci's/China's eye. Many of us were told our pay would be less because we were saving money by being WFH...then they kept our pay the same when they took WFH away. That's a crock of S, and just because you'd like another spoonful while wailing "thank you Charles, may I have another?!" doesn't mean the rest of us do.
Suck it up buttercup. You’re already getting paid to do a job at a WF location. Your whiny entitled attitude is sad. What ever happened to work ethic.

There is only 1 id--t who bashes those who work in the branches. Most of us appreciate and respect the job you did through Covid and today. Peace.
I see lots of bashing the branches. Truth is, with branches, you are all out of jobs. The branch staff will always be needed and per the prior comment, they were in the branches each and every day. Those working from home need to appreciate branch staff. Perhaps a bit harsh, but I agree with the previous comments against those working from home.
The world has changed. We put up with how work-life was, prior to Covid, because that was the status quo and we didn’t know any better. I’m surprised Charlie doesn’t want to go back to child labor.
Frankly - I resent all the wasted hours of my life fighting rush hour traffic, having to pay to park my car for the “privilege” of working at Wells Fargo, all the times I put my life at risk driving to and from work in ice storms, all the times I got sick because I had no choice but to sit next to a sick co-worker, all the missed lunches because we were too busy to go get something to eat, all the worthless meetings I had to sit in after already working a full day so that some pompous manager liked to hear himself/herself talk.
The world has permanently changed. Wells Fargo needs to adapt, unless the execs plan on doing all the work themselves 😉.
It is okay to think what you want but how did your job or location change other than COVID allowing us to work from home. Now it is seen as a pay cut to return to an office 3 days a week and you want to be paid more money. You should have been saving all that extra cash during covid knowing the bubble was going to work.
So you have a choice. If they want you to return and you don’t it will be a constructively quitting so no severance anyway. You have a work location assigned. You don’t show you are a no show so bye bye. How is that going to make your situation better.
If you could have found a better job you already would have so it is blah blah blah. I am sure you will not be missed by anyone.
Branch banking is ghetto and sucks. If you haven’t noticed, your job is being slowly automated. Enjoy your weird abuse in there tho or learn a skill.

Considering the pay cut that the rank in file took due to inflation, RTO came off as an unsympathetic slap in the face. There was a better way to do this instead of compounding an already difficult situation. Every disingenuous “Let them eat cake” response from Charlie and his boot lickers have really only fanned the flames of discontent. We know a con when we hear one. We all work for Wells Fargo.🤷🏻
I would not come back for any amount. I don’t want to waste hours commuting just to sit in an empty office. That’s time I’ll never get back. There are plenty of WFH jobs in my field so I’ll just leave if forced to.
