I was let go today. Last day 2/6. The company I worked for originally was purchased by Change Healthcare right before Change was acquired by Optum. Got the 15 minute notification for a touchpoint with immediate boss and director. As another poster specified I was also read the line:

"As you know, we frequently review our staffing numbers in order to make health care affordable for our members ..."

Was on a team that was too small already to keep up with the work.

Got laid off. Last day Feb 6th. Floating Holiday doesn't count towards the 40 hours of PTO they pay out so make sure you use it. Optum Tech South Region/Wellmed.

What a sick and dysfunctional organization I work for. I am embarrassed and sickened beyond belief. Incompetency at its finest. It's no wonder we (Optum/UHG) are in the situation we are in, and the stock dropped like a rock last year.

A word of caution when talking to the media, read your severance agreement. There is usually an anti-disparagement clause that gives them to right to stop giving you severance.

That being said, after you get all your money, have at it.

@aa that is a full of sh-t lie. At OT we build products that easily save millions each year while costing way less money in labor to run. Not once have I ever seen them reduce premiums or deductibles. All I’ve seen in our profit rise without giving back to our members or employees. Fu-k them for being gaslighting piece of sh--s.
