Where is the media on this?

There hasn't been a layoff yet. Theres been a pre layoff taking point at some time in the future. This is when warn goes out, this is when people will stay to need UE/cobra, etc. As of now everyone "laid off" still has a job as gat as anyone is concerned. Even limitations on taking on new work during the "garden leave" period.
Nothing has been confirmed publicly, if you’re in Bellevue, and watch local news they were covering Meta’s measly 331 layoffs (no shade to those laid off, just in comparison to our eventual figures) but Meta, love them or hate them, out of the gate filed a WARN notice, even with a layoff date in the future, and that was that…and here we are in limbo
Media can only report if the company gives them any information.
Every layoff is big if you’re the one losing your job. Objectively, though, this is not a big RIF. As much as it matters at all, it’s just expected cost pricing.
