Did anyone else get Cobra Insurance Letters from Nike today in the mail? I have 4 co-workers who got one today with nothing in the office being mentioned.

The letter went out to people with a spouse or dependent on their medical plan. That's why not everyone got one. Your so called targets likely seem that way because they have families or otherwise supporting someone on their plan.
Can’t is different than won’t. Confirmed, you’re a d-mb a-s. Words are hard. You probably didn’t get a letter.
@vy not going to mf
You can explain more dummy. It’s anonymous.
@jd well well well....that is what PS will have you believe bcos someone in that group really fu---d up. First off it did not go to every employee. Secondly, granted it is a small sample size, everyone in my group that received it falls in one "target" demographic or the other. Sorry I cant explain more....
Read the letter, it literally says "Initiation of COBRA rights" it's normally only sent out to people when new people are added to the plan, including when you get hired. THe mistake seems to be the "added new member" indicator was messed up and it was sent to people who didn't have changes this year.
More psychological warfare to increase attrition rates so they don’t have to RIF people and pay severance?!!
Just read through this thread and it didn’t come to any conclusion. Do we know if people who got the letter back then were let go or not?
Too funny https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1gN9VjeF
Better question. Who did not get it? Almost everyone I talked to received it.
@OP does the Cobra letter say why it was sent?
@dg haha! You expect us to believe People Solutions?
@dg not true! HR covering sh up again. Someone sc--wed up. Did anyone that got gush add a dependent?? Asking for a friend? Sounds like they f*** up their timing. Don’t worry though, despite their HUGE mistake to tip off a layoff they will keep their job.
people solutions sent out clarification in email that the letter was sent because of adding a dependent on Nike benefits.
I got laid off in November of 2024, got my benefits covered through June of 2025, and never received ANYTHING from Cobra about insurance.
Honestly, the exit process was so bad it was comical. Multiple people telling me different things, People Solutions taking days to answer an email, it was a Masterclass in how to completely fumble a layoff.
It’s a requirement if anything insurance related has changed. Doesn’t mean anything though. Unless you want to overthink everything, then it can mean something to you.
If your insurance changed, it's required notice within 90 days, and would say something about eligibility notice. If it's an election notice...well that would probably be a whoops unless you had a qualifying event.
Same here. I think I got the same letter last year. But I might be wrong.
Got the same mail.. Not sure what to make of it..
Yup
Mistake?
