Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Flex Time equals vacation loss

It looks like we have lost our full year's vacation if xerox sells or breaks up the company. We are not garenteed anything past the day there is a reorganization.

Is this how it is or can someone clarify?

You people clear know sh-t about "FLEX TIME".
Just like you know sh-t about 99% of what you spout off on this site.
Start working more and running your mouths less.
Be the solution stop being the problem.

I had 6 weeks before the change but I always take whatever I want. I work tons of extra hours to cover it. Nobody tracks time in my org anyway. We are grownups.

I had 6 weeks vacation when I retired, plus I always bought a week during open enrollment for a total of 7. I used every single day as I enjoy travel.

I wonder if I was still there how many days I'd actually be able to take. The "unlimited" flex time sounds like a nice benefit, especially to be hires as many companies have moved that direction, but from what I've seen it's generally bad for the employees.

You are all being used. They take your well earned vacation time!???!!

What the H e l l do you need to have happen before you realize that you’re in serious trouble here??

How much are you going to let them
Dump on you, before you call it a career there?
You all need to do some soul searching.

I heard something similar from my boss about vacation, too, and I'm taking my vacation anyway

I'm in production sales, and my VP told me his big production leader guy said I could only take a maximum of 3 vacation days at a time, and not at the start of the month, end of the month, end of the quarter month, and all of quarter 4, etc. He also told me I'm limited to 12 vacation for the entire year, maybe more if I'm at all these performance levels. Well, I've been here 20+ years and had 25 vacation days and this is the new program? This is filtering out, and almost all of my production sales team is looking for another job, they are tired of stuff like this and being threatened about their job every other day. We all wish we worked in the UK where they can't do stuff like this, but it's crazy because the Europe leaders manage the US SLT that come up with this junk. Hey European guys, do you know about this?

I'm taking my vacation time. It's up to them how they want to handle it.

@cc BTW, current market cap is only $350m. If anyone was buying what do you think they are waiting for?

@cs Its not terminating without pay. Severance and vacation time payout or 2 different things. In the US, most terminated employees don't even have that much vested because it is earned over the year. You do not start January 1st with your full allotment. This amount is trivial to XRX, but as they run out of cash is an indication of desperation. Keep this in mind when SB's 2025 comp is posted.

@cc Not a chance. XRX has nothing of value to sell.

this is how it is now... with flex they don't have to pay anyone out when they let them go. There are more RIFs planned for this year, so now that's less money they need to pay out. Also with their whole theme of "we're in this together. Think about the good of the company" it's another way to make you feel guilty for taking any time off

Flex time is a corporate ploy to make you feel guilty for taking time off and for terminating you without pay. The writing is on the wall.

@a8 well yes, that is exactly what the outcome is going to be.

@OP That is what you are worried about? Seems a bit trivial. Do you think selling or break up is the most likely outcome here? What country are you in?
