Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Check your 401k

Edward Jones made a change at year end to investment choices in the 401k.

While Suzan and her s$@t HR function did the bare minimum to communicate these changes through the 401k provider (Empower), it was buried under annual disclosures and most of home office and the field were caught completely unaware that the company made new investment choices on their behalf (Really great precedent for a company managing CLIENT investments, right!?).

Not sure I am surprised at all given the character of this company and its leaders, but just a friendly reminder to be sure to check on your 401k.

I think it's funny that I can get Vanguard funds in my EdJ 401k that I can't get in my EdJ IRA accounts. Shows EdJ is all about getting that money when it's coming and saving it when it's going.

Yet another change that has been so poorly managed. And how is it legal (or ethical) to make unauthorized changes to 401k investment choices in employee accounts without adequate notification (either before or after the change)?

How much longer will SM in HR be allowed to continue her reign of incompetency? If the reimagined disaster, failing to deliver on compensation changes and mismanagement of her function wasn’t enough, maybe getting your company sued for breach of fiduciary responsibility on benefits will do it?

What a bunch of literal clowns running this place…

@f8 Vanguard does not want EJ. EJ is the antithesis everything Vanguard stands for.

The new options are much better, honestly. However, they failed on communication.

They moved everything to Vanguard! I don't see other funds to invest in. Why are they so deep in bed with Vanguard?

@OP , I viewed mine the other day. Also went in and changed out my % I'm investing. I'm not staying with the firm much longer. Best decision for me from 2025!

Thanks for heads up. Yeah, my 401k allocations changed and I did not authorize those changes. Wow.

They removed almost everything for target dates. Why??????? Is this some kind of reduced risk play?
