Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Train has left the station...

Either you are on board like the 40.000 plus or you come here listen to ridiculous advice, such as "time to quit your job in a recession, bad mouth management or wildly speculate about Fiserv's future, completely ignoring the reality.

  1. Fiserv is winning in every metric and yes look at what happened at FIS this week.
  2. Being in the office the majority is reasonable unless you don't want to relocate to one of Fiserv's cities.
  3. Or maybe you are just so change resistant that anything different than what you did at OFSV many years ago you can't make the turn. Either way the train has left and Fiserv will not only be successful or already is the most successful in our industry.

Maybe not the reality you were wishing for.

KKR owned 16% of Fiserv after the merger.

KKR now owns 10% of Fiserv.

The stock price will not increase until KKR owns 0% of Fiserv.

How long that takes will be determined by how quickly they can find new bagholders, I mean new shareholders.

Train has derailed. Most people are wandering around stunned trying to locate their suitcases.

“ Fiserv is winning in every metric…”
What does that even mean? List these metrics you speak of. They better not be soft, marketing metrics like hiring within identified groups. No one cares about that except FB who wants awards for simply hiring people to work. This is from a recent article:

“Fiserv CEO Frank Bisignano said in November the company is “maniacally focused” on expense management and will generate expanding margins. Faced with profit margin pressure earlier this year, Fiserv cut workers which resulted in higher severance expense.

The company also made divestitures in the third quarter, as it looks to optimize its portfolio, Hau noted. Fiserv sold its Korea operations in September for $50 million, as well as its Costa Rica operations and an IT business unit. “

Tell me, which metrics are these?

If you’re at fiserv you’re not in tech and likely don’t have a lot of talent. The talent has left the building

Good luck taking your talents anywhere in a recession when every tech company is cutting jobs.

The only reason to stay is if you are change resistant. My linkedin is full of people who left and flourished elsewhere. I bet I'm not the only one.

And you think WE are resistant to change? Lol, read your own words genius.

Keep running your business like it's 1950 and see where you end up. Hint, you'll be on the scrap heap just like FD was. Better hope that?:

  1. Somebody thinks you still have enough value to take gamble and buy you.
  1. If 1 actually happens, that whoever takes that chance has brains enough to eject the current leadership in attempt to salvage the brand.

Most of us will have taken our talents elsewhere by then so we won't live through it, but you're staring straight at this future. Good luck.
