Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

They did NOT need my role no lore but…

Am one of those who will leave on 2/20 - and the team us now wanting to get all the knowledge. I know is not my manager/directors fault - but they had no shame telling my role was not needed = eliminated

I played nice till now. But 1/1 - dont bother me no ‘mo - figure it out

Cause remind that “VP leader” who made the choiced - my role is not needed. Therefore - you dont need my knowledge

Guess who gonna play the “ am sorry - I dont know the answer to that question anymore”

No need to burn a bridge. No need to be a doormat, either. People who showed no interest in knowing how to do the heavy lift that you were doing all this time don't need to become your responsibility now that you aren't necessary, and they are staying behind collecting a paycheck. Having self-respect is not a crime, despite what many people seem to think. That's not the same thing as yelling, making scenes, insulting people. Dignity and self-respect.

...And yet @ce, you applied your stratospheric intellect in order to infer the meaning of the posts anyway. Bravo, you. Perhaps you'd like it in a slide deck, with pretty colors and illustrations next time? No doubt you work for Verizon, if not in reality, certainly in spirit.

Grammar police distraction aside, the discussion was about people being told they aren't needed, only to find superiors and colleagues - who are supposed to already know how to handle this work, too - frantic for assistance on "a few things" before the unnecessary coworker goes. Sudden amnesia CAN be brought on by the trauma of being let go.

Yout role is no longer necessary. But could you tell us how you do this, and this, and this, too... and show us how this works... and what does this thing over here does... and how to fix this critical thing when it keeps breaking every 5 minutes, and could you write us a manual that explains this in simple terms, just in case we didn't catch it the last three times you explained it... or that time you told us we'd created a very risky single point of failure and should apply resources against this instead of our stupid pet project that the VP absolutely loves and got us promoted... Sure, V-Team. Keep telling yourselves this is going to end well.
