India ....no promotion for G6s

I have been told that i need to have minimum 15+ years experience to move to G7 in India .Is this normal ?

This leadership group's most detrimental practice is the systematic sidelining of high performers. Governed by an implicit anti-meritocratic stance, their chief aim is self-preservation. They intentionally install a layer of middling and compliant managers beneath them. This creates a buffer that prevents truly talented individuals from advancing to levels where they might question authority, reveal strategic shortcomings, or disrupt the status quo. Having reached the later stages of their careers, their focus has narrowed to preserving their lucrative positions and titles with minimal exertion, effectively treating their roles as comfortable sinecures.

Aware of their own inadequacy, this leadership intentionally builds a succession and team structure of equally mediocre individual 'mirror images' ,to eliminate any intellectual or professional threat. This calculated echo chamber is a self-preservation tactic, ensuring they maintain their comfortable, unproductive status quo. This entrenched, ceremonial leadership is a significant barrier to progress and meritocracy.

I've always lived in the USA and I'd never ever move to some 3rd world country for anything. Job or whatnot. Not even 10 million handed to me. Tantamount to su----e in my mind. Stay in the USA.

Its simple. Leave the company then come back for a grade 7 role. They hire grade 7 every time so why should u wait 15 years while others are getting it from day

G7+ job description

1)Show up.
2)Fill a seat/meeting room.
3)Occasionally wander to a meeting you don't understand.
4)Congest the cafeteria.
5) Avoid any real work.
6)Manage the calendar of the visiting white people .
7) Offsites , where people with no real responsibility talk in borrowed jargon for hours, to zero effect.

That's the G7+ playbook here. Business acumen? Technical skill? Actual productivity? Not required.
The promotion formula: Less brain = More Career Progress.
