Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

$20 million career transition fund

Verizon has not released a specific public list of the exact store locations involved in the single closure or the 179 conversions. The announcement focuses on the aggregate numbers rather than individual addresses. Reports indicate the targeted stores are likely "underperforming" or less profitable locations, but details on which ones remain undisclosed as of today. Employees at affected sites are reportedly being notified directly, and Verizon has established a $20 million career transition fund to support laid-off workers with AI-related reskilling.

Its only a fake show of compassion. those career transition companies dont really help. they will tell you to network and support other people who got laid off. its very depressing. it will only make you feel more sh---y

Each executive leaving with a golden package with millions wrapped in. And for 13K employees they secured $20M. What a shame. Fu----s. Don’t even have respect for the loyal employees. Wrong decisions made at top and they rewarded with millions. Hard working employees won’t even get a decent package and sc--wed their holidays and family happiness. What happened for the extra hours put in by employees by sacrificing their family time, their health, and sleep? No value at all?

That's about $1500 per person impacted. For a company making billions that pennies.

Might as well have given us a calendar for our loyalty, like they gave our 25+ year customers. You have to pay shipping though.
