I see where the BRC union has signed the post merger job agreement. A question for anyone reading this that is an official in the union, what do these agreements say? What wording is there in these agreements that makes it worthwhile? Are the members voting on this? None of this is making sense. It seems strange to me someone that has cut about 10,000 jobs is interested in anybody’s job security.

Did the unions include these job protections in the 5yr contract that was just proposed and ratified ? I don’t remember seeing any provisions about Jobs for Life ? Hopefully this isn’t one of the OLE” hand shake agreements” …I understand it was a national contract but UP was apart from the other class 1’s
So, the employees of which railroad has the jobs for life protection, UP employees or NS employees? We all know there won’t be room for both.
Stop crying and go back to work. Unions are on the company side
You may have to move 1000 miles every 3 months to keep said job but hey you have a job I guess
I'm glad that my union is looking out for me .like everything else , if we would of voted on this issue and it didn't turn out they way the powers to be wanted, they would of revoted fo us.
That's why I'm not trusting those agreements at all! The merger is not even close to happening right now, there's now three unions that have signed an agreement like this supposedly saving jobs. There's a lot of time between now and the merger happening for more jobs to be abolished by Vena before the agreements become active. Those agreements are only good for anyone that's still left if the merger takes place. Do not drop your guard folks! Those agreements don't mean jack sh!t until after the proposed merger.
