Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Well, it's all come to fruition!

I guess the only thing I think is so great about all these changes with the company is that it seemed there were quite a few people, naysayers, naive' people, argumentative people, that never thought these days were coming.

These people defended the company, said people were conspiracy theorists, over reacting, leaning in to the red flags too deeply.

When you have people that have worked here for years trying to tell you they've been through heinous changes before, they can see the red flags, they've been affected negatively in the past, they've seen the lack of care and concern from the company, you need to STFU, quit defending the company, stop calling people "conspiracy theorists," put on your listening ears, and start paying attention.

Idk if the Tates sales increase has anything to do with DSD outside of NOS orders shipping extra cases of them to all my accounts. Have like 5-10 cases of them sitting in the backroom because they don't move but keep getting sent in. There is a bit more flexibility for holiday flavors but honestly tates is the last item I think to sell in for a display because they will just out of date.

Unfortunately the lump sum shrinking. May force us to take payments.

As far as “retirement” sounds like you hit all the high points. Other than 26 weeks severance & all unpaid PTO in 2023(in some states all unused in 2022, not sure if same across the board) that’s what they send ya out the door with, but these days, that’s more than a lot of poor smucks like ourselves are getting. Just have to decide whether to take pension in lump sum or payments….

Attacking top talent because of Chicago? Yeah that's a lie, also isn't Chicago population shrinking every year? Almost like people don't wanna live there.

Mondelez is able to attract top management by operating in Chicago, how many top tier executives wanna live in Hazard KY or the likes of thereof? Probably none. Your lack of intelligence is apparent even before you start to talk politics, but once you do, its really clear you are a mo--n.

Congrats. What all included in max eligibility. I'm aware of pension, 401, health ins. Anything else. I also am a long timer. Hope to get severance but my area isnt until April. Just concerned as I dont currently have an order writer.

Very aware of the previous sales, I weathered the Kraft/Nabisco one then the split. I’m riding off into the sunset midway through next month, with the max eligibility I can possibly get out of my retirement with company after 3+ decades. No doubt they’ll get out of DSD, it’s my understanding in these super routes, SRs(SA)left, don’t write orders, only what they “sell” into a store above the FTOW’s order??

Sounds to me like, just helping with the transition of the FTOW taking over, then SR/SA gone like in 3-6 months! I have no idea, but makes sense if stop to think about it! Then the next big changes could look more like, the FTOW writes orders still, both FTOW/SSR’s throw deliveries, but product comes through the store’s warehouse off the store’s truck, then eventually, all responsibilities go to stores, exiting the SSRs & FTOW’s from store level as well by 2024. Have no idea all speculation, but the other poster is probably right, they’ll just exit DSD likely by 2024 if not sooner. Company seems to be doing it by, dummying it down every 1-2 yrs…

Never say never. But realistically they are getting out of DSd in the U.S. which represents maybe maybe 15 to 20 Global Sales. I don't think Mondelez has DSd anywhere else in the world.. I doubt it has anything to do with a sale of the company.

Nabisco has been Sold or spot out to its own company four times in the last 25 years. Nabisico was owned by national biscuit Company. Then RJR bought it. Then Phillip Morris bought it. Merge with Kraft Foods. Spun off the Mondlize. Now the company is downsizing. Getting rid of their assets. Looks like it’s for sale near me

You’ll need to provide “source” for Mondelez being sold, there is nothing when googled. Company sold off a brand while acquiring another brand as well as just bought a confection company in Mexico. So please, tell us the source of your comment?

Now why would Mondelez be looking for a buyer?

I am one of the 3 1/2 decades employees who started up ladder but preferred to stay a SR all those/these years.I have survived numerous restructuring/merging/unmerging/more restructuring, to finally being targeted, to lay off. I & another tenured employee, on my team, were both picked for exactly the reasons which follow this sentence. We are fully eligible for the “retirement” package, not to mention, we’ll leave with a pretty healthy severance, as a result.
Know this much, prior to 2012, it was a different work environment, the previous poster is correct, it’s evolved into what you see today, but back in the day, it was the company a lot of people wanted to work for. A very coveted job. Your manger went to bat for you, it was fun to go to work, nobody ever called out. The SSRs was held accountable and 2 people threw a load of over 125-150 cases, while 225cs was considered an 8 hr day. It was so because the aisle & displays were filled and creative displays were built and fun to do. Major stores got 4-7 days a week service. I’m telling you, we got perks and bonus which included Xmas ones too in one from or another! I could go on but it would just make you madder…
Now, it’s the reality of the wage gap of the worker bees vs the CEO & non employees, “the investors”….in 2012 you knew the party was winding down when the company stock was no longer a part of the 401k. It’s up to Gen. Z to force changes, to demand better, to put people in political office who have their interests in mind to realize a healthy amount of capitalism is good, but this is enslaving the lower 85% of country’s population so they can be controlled thru economics. Not a conspiracy, you’re watching it happen in the very employer you work for.

Mondelez operates in Chicago, just about the most business unfriendly city in the world since Democrats took over the city and the state. Any company d-mb enough to operate in Chicago in the 21st century clearly has no idea what it's doing.
