I’ve heard from two people in other departments that the next round of lay are coming in March-April. Was stunned to say the least. Also heard that a certain female sr vice president in her 50s is leaving. Seems we are losing many tenured senior leaders and executives who are being replaced by 30-40 something’s with no healthcare experience. What is going on?

Provider data and analytics - there was a town hall mentioning budget cuts and rifs..
BB is an axeman and he is swinging far and wide and will continue to do so as long as his salary and bonus continue to go higher and higher each year.
22 days ago someone said allll this! We better ask this person for the winning lottery numbers, Humana employees will need that pay day.
We already ate, with Centerwell. More sites opened in Texas.
What’s going on is Humana is on its way to becoming the next cr---y, Medicaid focused health insurance provider… the next Centene, and the like, with low paying wages, a horrible benefits package, that attracts inexperienced folks who bring little to no value running a shotty company.
Another round of lay offs? 😡
@1wyd+1kYU2d2C- there are more and more members who DONT go to their doctors, due to lack of transportation, lack of copay, I agree with you, the quality improving may help members want to go see their providers
The reductions have been nearly constant for the last six or so years. I have no idea why anyone would leave another company to go to Humana. Unless they are a VP or P and know they'll have millions in stock options in no time. I'm sure that takes the sting out of your job being eliminated. For everyone else however, those not pulling in millions in stock options each year, job elimination is often scary, frustrating, and life altering and not always in a good way.
I don't know why people stay there.
@1bhk+1kYU2d2C This is all BS. What members want is good care when they go to the Dr and the Hospital. Humana COULD ensure that levels of care were improved by providers but won't. Oh silly me. Providers hate Humana with a passion. They are forced to accept lower payments all the time and Humana don't really care about the level of care provided. Be honest. Value based does not mean a better deal for the member, it means a better deal for Humana and the provider.
But Humana is greatly positioned in 2023 with great Q4 profits!!!! Why would we need to have layoffs...oh because we need to give even bigger bonuses to recently promoted (and I'm sure compensated) leadership...duh...my bad.
It makes sense. They are working on budgets now, and the earnings call highlighted the Medicaid growth, and within RIFs, they can put that money back into benefits to remain competitive in that market. One insurance carrier does transportation to and from the grocery store, and that’s what many Medicaid members need now, not just to the doctors office or to silver sneakers
No clue as to areas impacted
What area's of Humana will be impacted by the layoff?
Did you hear what departments will be impacted? Thanks for the heads up.
