Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

Redeployment = farce

I think that C1 does not really embrace the internal movement of the workforce. In fact, it seems that most people think that redeployment is just a farce and nothing more?

You are absolutely correct the product managers are not technical and can't do tracking. They have a high learning curve to overcome to get up to speed and now have to track all sprints.

Attended a call today, was told repeatedly that this is not cost cutting measure but a strategic move, but did not explain the rationale behind the layoffs. They fail to understand that the problem is not agile but bad requirements, the Product Owners are new, do not understand the business have no long term view and would not write user stories. All the Product work is being done by engineers. Also. engineers and data scientists do not work as one team. The Business and tech not working together for a common goal is the real problem. Instead of looking at the real issues cap1 just wanted to emulate big tech and eliminated the ADLs.
