So we want to be inclusive but we are ignoring the one benefit people want. WFH helps diverse people stay employed longer and happier. Show me someone who wants RTO and I will show you a rich able-bodied white guy who has someone else taking care of his kids and lives in a prime location.

Worse - for the white worker bees with years of knowledge who are summarily dismissed and cut down for equity's sake. F Wells Fargo.
Seems to me there's a lot of non-white executives who have been hired in the past 5 years.
So is the company better - or is it worse - than it was 5 years ago...? What about employee morale - then vs now...?

Funny how most people are reacting to the “white “ part of the comment when really it’s the “rich” part. If you have a stay at home spouse, great childcare, don’t sweat the rise in gas prices and live close to the office it’s a lot easier. We know the execs aren’t swinging by McDonalds on their way home for dinner.
There isn't a single word in my job description about working in an office. In fact, working in an office is demonstrably inferior for my type of work, so doing it has a negative impact on the work product. The bootlickers need to stop pretending otherwise. It's not about work at all, it's about motivating people to quit and possibly filling sears for tax purposes. There's no other reason, and their arguments completely fail to make a valid business case. They aren't my dad. "Because I said so" isn't a business case, and this is why no one has any confidence that these stooges are doing anything right.
Interesting how you label the rich able- bodied as a white guy. Hmmm, our girl Kristy made over $1.1million/yr prior to joining the WF dumpster fire, current salary not yet available, Lester made over $13million in 2020 when joining WF, Ather made over $13 million total compensation his 1st year with WF. They are all people of color and make more money than everyone posting here combined. They're leading the RTO chant and shouting it out the window of the limo taking them to the office.
I support the dei efforts but kristy is already going to be traveling next week for dei in person sessions. An entire business line is stressed out with NO direction! It is so tone deaf. She IS still head of home lending. She can’t wait to do a dei tour until after all of these poor people lose their careers? No one knows what the h e l l is going on. It is really bizarre what is happening. It never ends
Learn a new word because "woke" is worn out and people aren't even using it properly anymore
Woke nonsense, take the DEI and shove it.
I think the OP makes a great point, except it is a “class” issue, not a color of your skin issue.
The well-to-do execs and managers are the ones who are pushing RTO, not your average salaried employee. And it IS because most of them do have stay at home partners, nannies, kids in private schools, meal delivery services, dependable cars, house cleaners, lawn services, car wash memberships, tutors to help their kids with their homework, neighborhood play groups, etc.
Much easier for the privileged.
When the racism card is thrown at every situation, it becomes meaningless and you lose credibility. Running a business and expecting people to show up to work because you are paying them to do so has nothing to do with racism. Stop trying to tie it to every single answer or decision you don’t like. It becomes laughable. Perhaps your wokeness and completely uneducated and uninformed opinions would be better appreciated at another company… if you can qualify for a job anywhere else that is. Lots of dead weight out here.
Red, puffy, engorged, sensitive, moaning, emanating heat, swollen.
The flexibility is good for everyone but essential for a lot of minority or female candidates. My stress level plummets when I work from home. It's quiet, I don't get sick from the coughing, I can take my kid to school without worrying about traffic, etc.
I'm a minority male but identify as a white non binary female and I 100% agree with this post! Lucky for me I'll benefit from DEI strategy!
The racism starts at the top of the house; remember how this whole DEI "woke" sh!t started? Shart-Boi made his comments about how Black talent pool is 'very limited'. Seriously? WtF? Then this guy has the audacity to not own up to making these comments by saying that his comments were taken out of context? Ge-z, this guy should run for public office.
DEI and woke culture is ruining this company, and many others. It was so nice to see Philadelphia hockey player Ivan Provorov refuse to wear the woke Pride jerseys last night at the Wells Fargo Arena. Stop shoving woke down our throats. Focus on your business, e is banking, hockey IR anything else.
Wrong, I’m a middle aged white man who lives in a prime location and didn’t have kids, and I spend that extra money investing and on extravagant trips.
Also I couldn’t care less one way or another about RTO. Office is fine, home is fine, as long as I can retire by 50 I don’t care.
I’m a middle aged white male and I agree 100% with this post! FRTO forever.
Sweet. Good to know WF hires lots of racists. Yeah, get on that anti-white bandwagon while you can! I know it gets you off.
Straight facts.
