How do you manage to focus on work in such a bad atmosphere and uncertainty?

Yep. RIF'd in January. It was a gift to my mental health because the constant changes in my peer group, frequent lay-offs, and offshoring were taking an impact on my mental health. In the past few months, every meeting that was scheduled with my manager was triggering anxiety. Jobseekers in the US should AVOID.
I do what I can with things within my ability to control. :shrug : I started preparing myself to get RIF'd 4 years ago and I'm getting closer to "Pick me! Pick me!"
To the poster that said our product looks like it’s from 1995 - if you’re in TAP it also pays your bills and works better than the new stuff coming out. AF and Onvio both look new and don’t work well enough to praise the good looks.
Honestly I’m at a point where the severance would give me a few months off and that’s ok. I know I have a great skill set due to doing more than just my job and I know how to get a lot done so I can coast. This isn’t my forever but it’s fine for now.
if the users only knew what a shitshow it is behind the curtain. our products look like they were built in 1995.
I lost many friends today. I am sick about it. I do not want to work for a company that consistently works like this.
Easy! Do the bare minimum to avoid attracting attention or overburdening colleagues, and use the spare time gained to shop for new jobs. The endless and pointless company and organization-wide meetings are a perfect opportunity for job hunting “on the clock”.
Having a more stoic mindset helps.
