Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Where Did you go after you left?

Long term manager, on my way out, but looking for a new position before I leave. What jobs have you secured after being a manager?

I pivoted from a store manager 3 to account management (both commission and salaried) in tech. I miss my campus that I worked and studied
at for over a decade, but it’s nice to be making significantly better money and with proper work life balance. Plenty of companies out there investing for growth and in you as an individual. Hard decision to make at first, but boy are things so much better now. Left in 2021.

I took a few computer programming classes and got a tech job that pays 5x what I made as a manager while working half as many hours.

My ki-k is 60 year olds. Once you got 60, post the location and I’ll pay you $50 for 180 seconds of the best night of your life.

I up skilled in Excel while at store and then transitioned into an operations analyst position. Search operations analyst/retail analyst on LinkedIn and Indeed, remote, and you should find several.

Publishing company- several ex Follett folks crossed my path over the years. I know past employees that went to university positions- awesome if you can land one. There are several transferable skills to publishing in particular (customer service, marketing, ecommerce, textbook knowledge, vendor support, sales support ) or academic support departments within universities.
