Thread regarding Follett layoffs

No lunches or breaks

For those posting about being the only employee in your store so that you cannot take breaks or lunch, if you are in California, report Follett to the State. They will slap them hard with a fine. Everyone else should check their state laws on the issue.

If Follett fires you, that's then is retaliation which becomes a very serious issue for them.

One of my greatest experiences when working at follett was taking my lunches. Covid especially. No one bugging me: RM’s, faculty, or students. I loved it..especially when you could order margaritas through delivery apps. I’d get tossed mid afternoon, kick back on my phone and wait for something interesting to happen.

But I definitely agree…close up shop. Go eat. Sh-t, grab a drink before you head back in.

Trying working in the OTC. It’s a ghost town and when the chosen ones come in, they get breaks, free snack, fancy lunches, and nice hotels and dinners. There is a snack order sheet!

Also, RP had his office redone and heard it cost $50,000 I was told. That’s a managers salary.

Work harder… daddy needs new golf clubs.

The levity is nice, although the forum’s audience is a bit challenging to read.

Obviously, there is someone posting satire comments here. The “ungrateful peasants” poster. Too funny. Here’s the thing, you will not be fired for taking your lawful break and your college absolutely knows that. So does Follett. Close up shop. Eat.

Any stores who attempt to report us to their state will be closed immediately. We are not violating any state law and will not engage any false claims - our time and attention will be focused on profitability. Give it a try - it wouldn’t be the first store we close and won’t be the last. Such ungrateful peasants.

I close for lunch. My school understands that I am legally entitled to a break. So should yours.
