Well ladies and gentlemen it appears the annual Dog and Pony Show is making its rounds in a city near you very soon! It’s the same song and dance as the DM scrambles to run his fire drills to make sure he looks good. Get your “culture board” nice and tidy, make sure all your acrylics aren’t broken and perfectly centered. Get your floor on point, clean the fried chicken grease off the phones, get them connected to wifi since you never have the time to activate them in my biz. Make sure you guys know where the tracker is located on and off the sales floor so you show the bad guys you are “running towards the crisis”. Make sure you overload your teams with the itinerary so they don’t asking any d-mb questions…God forbid they do and you get the death stare from your DM! Ohh and whatever you do…Don’t mention the elephant in the room…Staffing!!!

Agree with the spiffs being cr-p. They aren’t paying a thing to retain their talent and the newbies are being sucked in based on what the company USED to be. It use to be the job everyone wanted. The GM role was the money/cake role, the SM role was also cake but now the SM role is just a glorified rep and the GM is stuck taking the chorizo ALL DAY now. At one point Verizon was a leader in the industry but NEWS FLASH…they aren’t the only ones in town anymore.

I laughed when ours was talking about some $100 spiff. Still don’t know what it’s for but I know it’s not worth dealing with the headache of a customer returning it or it just being a bad product. Just let continue slamming port out pins

Oh yea…check your returns! They like to spot check them! Get them done daily, be a floor leader, be a rep, be a mommy and daddy, psychiatrist, get on ur nonsense calls, do your merchandising for the next big iconic launch, get your coachings and workouts in…damn thank God they shorten the store hours (insert sarcasm)! The 2nd DO NOT for these visits is …. Whatever you do, don’t bring up compensation!!!! Get it through your heads, Verizon is in the business of maintaining while TMobile is growing which is why they pay better, Verizon did that in the past and it’s old news…get with the program TMobile (insert sarcasm AGAIN)!

don't worry the guy fieri look a like will come in and smile a lot and nod on the tour of your store. even if you say anything is wrong it will be overshadowed with WHAT THEY find wrong. Stick to your training. WWHD

Wow, this is so true! You should be the “fire drills” the DM here is having his managers do just to pull off the circus show for the visitors. I literally have heard him say, “everyone is making it happen being short staffed, I don’t want to hear that excuse anymore”. He might be true, but common as a rep I have been sent to those other stores “making it happen” constantly. Verizon really needs to fix the staffing situation because it’s BAD!

100%! It’s so annoying, can’t forget to take the pic for Instagram! It’s funny this post comes out as we have our new director visiting today. Our district manager was heard laying into our managers yesterday on a call. I feel bad for them. Being a manager in this company isn’t worth it anymore. Stay a rep!
