Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Too many issues that only get worse over time

I've been thinking about all the issues that frustrated me here, not only are they not fixed, but they've gotten worse in the meantime. Can anyone think of any issues that bothered them that were actually fixed? This is a place where the problems just keep piling up.

How is that Salt platform doing these days? OS patching fully automated? I just remember how everyone Architect and Engineer hated, really hated Salt but the Salt team had someones ear and it was what had to be used.

Working as designed is always the response to anything needing fixed

It's these types of responses that earned fiserv a coveted spot on GlassDoor's 100 best companies to work for in 2023 list. Oh wait. Lol.

I left at the end of the year voluntarily because in November they told me I could no longer be a manager since I wasn't in an office. I had no option to go to an office (I wouldn't have moved if they gave me the option, but they didn't) They took my title away, and but told me to still do the same job I just couldn't have anyone reporting to me in the system. Somehow this made sense to the higher ups that I couldn't manage my geographically diverse team unless I was in a Fiserv office. At that point it was clear to me that the only sort of loyalty at Fiserv is from the employees and you will never see that loyalty back.

Notice the response to problems - "Just shut up & get back to work!"

Go back to work. A company is not supposed to be a playground or a place to amuse you. It is about working for our clients and doing a full days work. No one owes you anything. Those who left quickly learned this lesson. Time to be an adult.

Oh you mean internal issues! I was thinking of the issues that are clients are having with our products that aren't getting fixed.

You can see how I could get confused.
