Thread regarding Synopsys Inc. layoffs

Ansys did not do mass layoffs when Synopsys did often

That is what chatGPT told me. Ansys never had a mass layoff but Synopsys did a few times in the last a few year.

The merge was good initially if you sold all of your Stocks a few days after the merge. Otherwise, you lost 30% minimal.

What I like is as that an Ansys employee, we were asked to create a lot of value in the last 8 quarters so the merger/acquisition could go through with Synsopsys. ROI, cost custing blah blah blah. But we were successful. So Synopsys had to borrow a lot of money for the acquistion.
As a reward for the diligence of the Ansys employees, 10% of will be let go.
Let no good deed go unpunished!

@b2 2017 layoff at ANSYS was due to Ajei assuming as the new CEO. There was a major reorg. But that's about all through his tenure here at ANSYS. Never heard any major layoffs since then till yesterday. This time is different, and I am sure the layoff will become the new normal before/after each and every earning calls from now on. Such a disgrace filled with greed.

Ansys did have a “restructuring” some years back. Maybe 2017 or so? Not quite mass layoffs and a one time thing, but worth mentioning. They were a good company. Always beating estimates and had a positive outlook. Appealing enough for Synopsys to buy, and then discard anything that made Ansys good. Make us come back to the office - that will surely fix all the problems.

Merge was good for the top level who knew the price would drop and shifted the first earnings date to the day after their scheduled sales. Now they’re being exposed for getting in too deep on something they aren’t equipped to handle.
