Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

After last week layoff message to current employees

You have seen over the past 2 years thousands of employees being laid off. Multiple locations/sites have been shut down. Low salary increase. Management has no plan or vision to grow. If I were in your shoes as a current employee, I would stick to the minimum rule. Rule of working zero weekends, OT, or going above and beyond at my job. It is a matter of time before you will be next on the list that will save some money for the company.

Run away RUN. You are a number if that and expendable if you work at l3.

@OP It is still a good company to work for. 10 years ago, for example, was much better, but still a good company compare to many others. Standard of living goes down, new reality, everywhere. Don't think it will go to work for food, but salary will not provide living for sure. Everywhere.

For those of you within sight of retirement, take heed. If you're planning to stay with the company's health insurance until you are eligible for Medicare, keep an eye on your benefits. I and many other retirees have had to battle with the substandard company that L3 Harris has contracted to handle our health insurance. Upon retiring, many of us found weeks later that we had no insurance. Only after a barrage of phone calls and White knuckle waiting were we reinstated with no explanation given. Also, some of us have had our insurance policies changed to reflect a higher deductible and a higher copay without our consent or knowledge. It was only after threats of litigation that this was corrected. Overcharging, and false claims of unpaid premiums have also been challenged. This is what awaits you if you decide to retire from this company. Customer support is offshore. And, the people you speak to will not understand you nor will you understand them. Any questions are answered by a scripted drop-down menu being read by a person who is sitting at a desk 12,000 miles away. This is what the so-called prime contractor offers to its employees.
There is no reason anyone in this line of work should be desperate enough to stay with a company such as L3 harris, unless you bullsh-tted your way into a job that you were overpaid and underqualified for. Since this seems to be the only people left, let them go down with the ship. They have no place else to go. But for those of you who are qualified in this field, it behooves you not to move on.

My recommendation to everyone still there, get your financial house in order. There is no vision and program wins will be scarce. All the good people have left or retired.

This company has nothing to offer anyone. No one in there right mind would seek work there. I cannot be trusted. Most of upper and middle management is corrupt to the core. The company is running on borrowed time.

Seems like every Wednesday in the fall feels like the day before the end of the world around here.

We've been told it's not over. There is another surprise coming around thanksgiving. And it's not a turkey.

There was a post here about the contract negotiated by the bargaining unit in New jersey. I see it's been taken down. I guess it got somebody's nose out of joint. Probably from management people who got half as much.
