I don't know how true this is but I heard that some already have a scheduled meeting with the manager. How many of you have that meeting scheduled? I would like someone to share little more details because I am very anxious and would feel terrible if I get laid off.

At least you had a meeting. Back in 2016 we were all told that we were to be let go via a pre-recorded video!
I had a meeting with my manager last week. He had a large grin on his face while he was firing me. I guess he thinks it's funny.
Not funny, just happy it was you and not him. Still nasty though.
Your manager will always smile, talk reassuringly, and tell you they are working for either your promotion or a raise, but it is all smoke and mirrors. They will continue to smile as the tell you that your position has been eliminated!
They are all echoing the same script.
Man, nothing will be happening in December. Everyone is in holiday mood and don't have time to come to office.
Just wait for January.

"This message was just made up, just to see what people say..."
You, sir, are exactly correct. This might even be verbatim the same message entered 10-14 days ago in another thread.
Likely made by the same d-mbf-ck H1B holder that keeps saying how great his new job is, and any employee who remains is victim of Oracle Doormat Principle.
And if you can't post my message as is, then you should ban any post with the word doormat in it, it is a troll that is WAY past its prime.
Consider bringing a tube of astroglide with you to the meeting.
Good luck finding another IT job in this environment; Google is rumored to prepare close to 20% layoffs on top of the rest of the industry
This message was just made up, just to see what people say...nothing concrete. This site should only be for concrete news, not for creating anxiety for people...
I'm sure layoffs might happen soon or not, but these "I heard..." messages with no substance are just to worry people and push people to bi--h about everybody...we are not helping each other with these types of unsupported, made up rumors.
In my case, my manager texted me if I was available for a quick phone call and that was it; there is no need for a formal schedule from email
If it happens, it happens. You cannot stop a runaway train. Just always be ready.
If you don’t have a meeting, move on. Nothing to be anxious about, for now.
Which org and team?
