Email went out today telling us to go in on mondays for Friday bc Tuesday thru Thursday are the busiest days. Yeah a--holes you’re cramming us all in and making people show up into less space.

@em
it's 1.6 with 3 days
1.4 for 4 days
1.2 for 5 days
@f0 FU troll. If we have to be in 8 hours x 3 then fine. But there should be adequate space and facilities.
At least you still have a job to go in to. This thread is for layoffs not complainers not wanting to be in an office
@bt most managers will not because they would have to make them for everyone in order to not discriminate. Doing it fir all essentially wipes out the rule
@ad It’s actually 1.625 employees to seat ratio for number of desks they need.
Who keeps stealing the usbc cords!!!
So glad I'm freaking done with that place
@bb actually, your manager has discretion to make short term exceptions. I believe up to two weeks or something
@a8 many people have been fired for not going in. Why give them a reason to fire you if you need a job?
@OP the massive displacements are their answer to space. Its about as d-mb as no process to provide an exception if needing to work from home if you have an illness like flu or covid. No such thing as sick days for most of the company and very limited PTO so let's all go in and spread the germs. D-mbest cr-p
It's temporary, they will keep firing people until we easily "fit" in their cr-p buildings.
@a5 And when it does go to 4 days, 90% of us will be in Mon-Thu, because nothing ruins the sweet relief of logging off on Friday like a commute.
Pre school. This place doesn't care about results.
If everyone were coming in 3 days as the policy says, there would be at least 1 day where seating was at full demand. That's clearly not the case
What you all don't understand is that assigned seating is never coming back. Get used to it.
They figured that even at 5 days a week, they can have less than 1:1 seats because people will still be out for PTO, travel, etc. they'll adjust their ratios but it'll never be 1:1 again.
Assigned seating defeats the purpose of what they want to accomplish. With assigned seating you feel you have a place. That is your spot. You belong there.
Not having assigned seating is deliberate messaging. You don’t have a permanent place here. Your personal space is not valued. You are not an individual. You are interchangeable.
They want you to feel the unnecessary stress and frustration before your work day has started by having to hunt for a location to sit.
It’s a corporate mind game created by twisted sociopaths.
Everyone should refuse until they get assigned seating again. To force everyone to look for a desk every damn time they go to the office is absurd. Think of how much wasted time is spent on this alone.
Just curious , which LOB is this.
For Corporate risk, starting next year , it will be 4 days. I am sure similar message will be sent
If Tues/Wed work for me because of carious factors why should I have to change and someone else doesn’t?
Or give us assigned cubes for the eventual 5 days back in the office. Problem solved
Well if you dont take their advice and space does become an issue, prepare for them to tell you which days to come into the office. They have enough space if everyone comes in evenly throughout the week. The issue arises when everyone wants to work the same days in office, which they can easily remedy by assigning everyone to specific days.
