Thread regarding Qorvo layoffs

Clemmer Seals The Deal

Clemmer did the same thing with AGERE and LSI in the early 2000's. Starboard sees a huge return on share price, sells of course. Good call on Starboard's part brining Clemmers to the table.

There is going to be be some major reorgs and fat cutting. I don't think the Triquint-RFMD Lackeys will survive overall. Arrangements like five supervisors for the the same group of people will not bode well.

There will be massive duplication of services. Redundant groups will be addressed.
Watch the management! True test of character now, watch what your manager shares with you. More than likely only concerned about themselves. And rightfully so.
This is an IP grab for Skyworks. Maybe some niche designers will be absorbed. Personally, I feel it couldn't happen to a more deserving management group!

Just in time for Christmas too!

My manager, who normally sits in the office with the door shut all shift, is still sitting in the office with the door shut all shift. Like it is going to stop the coming storm. His boss is walking around making up BS Skywork strategy and spreading it around to his subordinates. Im pretty sure Skyworks will designate my bosses bos "Dead Wood" and advance him to the " circular file" they will probably have to break dwown my magers door to have HR give him his exxit interview. Skywork CEO and Eight skywork board members to Qorvos three board members. The Skyworks strategy, in my opinion is, ...transfer IP , take any decent equipment, cut staff ASAP and get rid of HR ( after they do what they do best) , its just a money drain. Then offer transfers to valueable staff. Sell off whatever real estate you can and break leases. Headqurters is in CA and will stay there. Qorov staff for the most part is now obselete. So much duplication, I wouldnt know where to begin, with the exception of the niche designers.

@ez "the value of the spinoff company " there will be no spinoff. And if there is, its a RFMD and Triquint Legacy Sale with all the outdated software and equipment included. Once the IP is transferred and other related technology is uploaded, well you don't have to be an expert in DIGITS TO DOLLARS SCENARIOS. You must be one of them Q world Bob Lackeys hoping you will weasel out of it like every other layoff you survived. Not this time. Obsolete personnel, real estate, equipment, support groups, duplicated groups like qual and test etc...... one thing is for sure; managers ( a lot of Q management) majority of HR and surplus support staff will be going soon. Skyworks is not going to pick though a barrel of "well you know:" for corn. So DIGITS To DOLLARS is really your social security number digits for your unemployment check dollars. And it couldn't have happened to a more lame management structure!

I tend to lean toward DIGITS TO DOLLARS SCENARIOS. "The merged company creates an economy of scale needed to stave off competitors in the mobile market. Then, a spin off the non-mobile side of their combined businesses into a separate company.

After combining, then split off the non-mobile business. (Using 2024 valuations) Today the two companies have a combined enterprise value of $28.2 billion, after the proposed series of transactions the mobile and non-mobile NewCos would have a combined $38.4 billion enterprise value. So $10 billion in value creation, just like that."
Currently merger has a 22 billion valuation.

IF this is a viable path forward, THEN, some of the jobs will be held for the time period to increase the value of the spinoff company rather than shrink assets (Well, yes some people are assets on a spread sheet) prior to valuation.

Now you have a 22 billion dollar entity that the fruit company still wont do business with. I guess short term, it looks good, stock goes up, Activist Investor, without a doubt, pulls it money out , seel stock, stock price drops, and then, the all too well known semiconductor dirt spiral. Well done Q, well done!

well one thing is certain, Skyworks has enough corporate real estate. No need for the "two qorvo HQ's". The IP slurp will begin followed by notices of "redundancy". Now to everyone who bragged their tenure, and wore it like a badge, see what it gets you and welcome to the real world. Not dysfunctional Q world, the real world. Better star brushing up on interveiew techniques and getting AI to make you resume look like some sort of accomplishment. Enjoy your interview process.
