I was scheduled to work in the office tomorrow. My entire team and I were told to work from home. Was everyone told this? Or should I take this as a bad sign.

@a9 I'm not in HR but I know from previous rounds that direct line managers don't always know what's coming, and could very well be on the list themselves.

The UK office was also told to WFH if possible. While we have very different laws over redundancy and layoffs, we have been told to expect some cuts tomorrow. In the next few weeks International is rumoured to be cut down to the bone in terms of staff.

we were encouraged to be home the whole week - assumed it was to cut down on chatter ..
@a4 What do you mean it's "likely" your boss doesn't know? How are the decisions on who is being cut being made?
@OP in my almost 5 years in the company I never was asked to stay home for layoffs. I wonder if this is part of SD layoff process. Boss asked the whole team to stay home tomorrow

It doesn't mean anything, other than that you have a considerate boss. Likely your boss doesn't know if impacts will come to your team, and if they do, who will be impacted. But it's going to be a rough day in office for everyone, so better to be in the comfort of your own home.

Yes all teams were told to WFH if your manager did communicate it. They do this every layoff.
Fairly certain most teams were told to WFH.
