As usual the peanut gallery in here makes d-mb predictions that end up not happening. Do everybody a favor if you don't know for sure, leave the rumors to yourself. Until you actually become a manager and you get a peek for how things really work behind the scenes, and then share things here because you actually know about facts, until then just keep it to yourself.

The irony of GK ki-ling US Bank is that there is no accountability for doing so. The board gets paid regardless, she gets paid either through staying or with a golden parachute.

The ones that suffer are the employees by either being canned or being beating up morale wise for staying.

Then to add insult to injury, the stock takes a hit, which is really just the general working population's 401(k), all controlled by the BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street. Who again, they get paid no matter what the performance. So it comes back on the worker.

Sorry folks, but it's rigged game, but you also don't have to put your life's value in this game. There is another game/battle going on that is eternal.

Yeah, I don't buy that for a second. There's too many people who work remotely to layoff all at once. Besides, they're already not hiring new positions/promotions in non-hub cities, so remote employees will organically move on over time. Mass layoff isn't needed.

Call their bluff and agree to start commuting. They do not have the space capacity to house everyone in an office.

@ae How do you know the town hall will say that? Seems like they would definitely need to issue WARN for that. Seems like BS.

Yes the town hall on Friday will say anyone remote either has to move or will be laid off in the next 6-12 months.

@OP Notified by who? If they mean constructively dismissed, they are already doing that to the non-favorites. For god’s sake, just put us all out of our misery so we can enjoy the holiday season.

What does "displaced" mean? Are they going to kick you off your land and send you to a reservation?

I am also remote. I am expecting to eventually be laid off but it is what it is. I was deemed too far to commute to a hub. I refuse to relocate. All I can do is prepare. The job market is rough but trouble doesn't last always. Things will eventually improve and I refuse to let this bank stress me to death. I am just glad I am OOO on Friday. I need a break from this place!
