Are employee surveys anonimous and confidential for real or are they just lying to us?

Is that a serious question?

Wake up, stupid.
Who really cares?
As an Associate director in charge of 10+ employees, I have no idea who is/isn't answering what.
Based on the comments, I can sort of figure out who made the verbatims since I know how my team communicates fairly well, but those are not tied to the rest of the answers. So pretty anonymous to me.
It is confidential but not anonymous.
It is, but only for those that can competently use spell check
@a3 There is plenty of animosity, but no anonymity!
IP addresses are not anonymous!
the survey even says:
Keep in mind:
Do not share your survey link – it’s only for you! I wonder why? Hmmmmm
Found out this week, they know the location of the person. So depending on your team, you could be easy to spot…..
They are anonymous to your leader. Guarantee HR can see.
If your leader has les than 5 reports it will go to their leader. But still anonymous. But super small team leaders dont see anything.
I think if you put down an interesting comment they will figure out where it is coming from. E.g my boss is working two jobs etc
There is no animosity
There’s no way you are an adult with a job here and misspelled “anonymous” twice in this post. It even says the correct spelling right next to the submit button.
of course there NOT,do you think they are
