Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

What’s happening with Procurement?

What’s going on in Procurement these days? The team seems overloaded but it’s unclear what real value is being delivered. The group under Sekar has become almost impossible to work with — rude, defensive, and constantly shifting blame when scope or deadlines are missed.

Everyone knows about the behavior, yet nothing changes. Sekar openly says “Dave has my back,” and it shows. Where is Priscilla in all this? Why is this being tolerated? The lack of accountability and respect is getting out of hand.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue or hearing similar feedback?

PepsiCo will not be happy until the lowest level on the payroll is director and every position below that has been outsourced.

Layers upon layers of directors and senior directors with no real leaders.

Procurement is led by people scared to make a decision. The good procurement people are held back by the leadership.

@af Maybe Sekar just isn’t ready for the role Anthony had — it shows in how the team’s been managed. Jonathan probably would’ve done better in that spot. Still, there’s some hope things could improve,Priscilla since she came in it’s not clear yet what her focus is as she seem to care less anyway. Her team is running around like spoiled brats and the leader is clueless

While Anthony was a waste of a position (no value) when he was here, he could at least handle clueless Sekar. Now that Anthony is gone, Sekar couldn't find the exit to the building without the exit signs. Sekar can't commit to anything, fails to follow through, and throws his team under the bus when things get heated. The team is overloaded, and Sekar couldn't give a flip. His own image is far more important than the team's health. I feel sorry for them, but that's PepsiCo for you.

They should have put Jonathan in Anthony's position. He's good at what he does.
