My area's HR person said they're taking a 9-week average of attendance (based on badge scans), and you need to average 2.5 days/week in office, which is supposed to account for vacations, supplier visits, etc. Allegedly they're also incorporating how long you're connected to company WiFi when counting days in attendance. The whole thing is Orwellian and a complete waste.

I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped those emails. I heard some people were entering through side doors and it wasn't getting counted (even with badging); so they couldn't guarantee people not being counted weren't actually showing up. Also there's a legal requirement to provide those records to employees upon request.
