Who has been advancing Penny over and over again during her career? I mean just look at her name. That is way too much alliteration and redundancy. I could never take her seriously because of her silly name when I first met her as an FA. If she wanted to be taken more seriously she should take Mike's last name. Her parents did not do her any favorites. I think her parents may have been first cousins. She is from Tennessee, right?

Right, names mean nothing. Just ask the former now broke clients who invested their money with a man named Bernie MADOFF.
I think the point @op was trying to make was not ignoring that the fact that many women do not take their husband's last name, but with her parents' poor judgment maybe she should have taken his name. I agree her name is the least of her problems. Her leadership abilities are pathetic. How can she say to potential clients entrust your assets with me and I will improve your life when she has ruined thousands of lives already and will ruin even more before her managing partner tenure is over. We are only through cascade one of Enterprise Reimagined. There are many more layoffs and demotions on their way. Just some anecdotal evidence every time I tell someone I work for Edward Jones and I tell them who the managing partner is they laugh at the name. Her lack of changing her name lends credence to her lack of judgment as we all have now witnessed. I understand her name should not matter. But, the reality is it does. As far as the harassment training, I am not sure why anyone would take the advice of anything this dumpster fire of a firm is telling the employees (no longer associates or partners) to do. This company has lied to the employees over and over again as Penny drags her tired self out in front of people from a distance now. The harassment training and other human capital training led by SM is not designed to help the employee it is designed to keep the employees from getting the firm in trouble. If you need proof just ask the two ex-employees I know personally who made s-xual harassment reports and were fired on the spot by SM's human capital department that is supposedly there to help the employee. HC is there to make sure the company's butt is covered, that's it. SM came out a couple of years ago and announced Human Resources is changing its name to Human Capital and yet almost every time SM's department is referenced it is called HR. She cannot even get a simple rebranding correct. Don't fool yourself HR or HC or whatever they want to call it this week is not there for you. It is there to protect Penny and her cronies.

It’s foolish to criticize something like a name. Now if you want to criticize her poor leadership and poor decision making, I’m all ears.
