Some had been with the company for many years.

@dk exactly Courtney French is long gone, used her name because I didn’t want to get caught.
I think the one thing that is eating at me, one of my fellow IT PM’s that retired last year said they never ever do layoffs so I was lulled into a false sense of security thinking this would be my last ever company. Thankfully I already have leads, but I liked working downtown because my kid is at a daycare nearby and drop off was always fun.
And I thought I was the only one who thought this group and its leaders were fake and artificial!
It truly is a big nothing burger. I doubt anyone would show up if food was not offered. The cr-p they talk about is recycled from the 90’s.
I wonder how much money the company spent on the fluffy, artificial women's group that was started? Have you attended any of these? Meetings, free food offered to get people to go, a recent conference out of state where everyone had to travel for it, all for discussions based on books recently read, pretty PowerPoint slides with graphics built in, and the leaders of it calling everything "amazing". I'm not against IT having a women's group, but this one delivers absolutely no content or knowledge. It's a ridiculous joke that a couple of very catty and backstabbing people have built their careers on it.
Was it worth cutting these staff for this nothing employee resource group?
@da Pretty sure you don’t even work here anymore. Thought you left a few months ago. So what are you on about?
@da Girl you don’t even work here anymore. This is real life for people going through this right now, grow up.
@db why not? How else am I suppose to know??
@da Not the place to ask this Courtney.
Does anyone know if my group will be affected? I work in the managed accounts area and my boss has been acting very strange. Everytime she looks at me she won't make eye contact. I'm scared
Well at least we can afford the name on the Cardinal and Blues Jersey. Also the swim team, little girls soccer teams, and Ski team. It's funny the amount of money old Ron drops at Napoli you would think these layoffs would be sooner.
It sounds like it was based on salary. The company will soon regret letting all of that experience and value walk away. It’s going to cost the company both near and long term when they let the bean counters do layoffs based solely on numbers.
I’ll bet none of the nepotism hires were let go either. Talk about a d-mb decision keeping most of them around.
@a7 heard that too from someone that survived. I was a PM that didn’t, despite managing a project to implement a new Service Management platform.
Confirmed 4 people of varying tenor were told “restructuring” as the reason for their termination. Some 15+ years of employment.
@cc Help desk has 6 managers they don't need that many hopefully they cut some of that fat.
Annuities department and the Bank side will have layoffs next week!
They are running this place into the ground. I heard the Help Desk and SIA were next.
I've heard it was greater than 40 people. 60 people from IT and I've heard of a few more from other areas. Ive also heard managers had no input on who was let go. They were told who was going to be let go by individuals higher up.
so sorry to hear this.
good luck to you all.
