Perhaps because it hasn’t happened already? I think because they don’t want to scare the hears, while the hyenas pick off the stragglers around the edge. We are, however, heading towards a cliff. Many will be driver over the precipice!

Retail market & Finance is about to fall after Christmas. Oracle retail / financials may get big hit. Better place for survival and growth should be Cerner or health related. Internal projects are to be questioned for head counts and more shuffling to happen.
H1B’s try to get backup offers so you don’t have to leave country immediately.
Hearing same situations with FAANG companies too.
Managers and Senior Managers will be on the list. Fresh /new joiners will be on list.

Almost all companies are preparing their axes for January and February (after the holidays). So no wonder Oracle does. Be prepared for it. All the research funding and extra fats are going to be reduced in near future.
Better to move to some non-tech industry for a while and return back. Non-tech industries are in hunger for technologist but lagging due to H1B hiring restrictions. If you are a Citizen or Green card holder better to explore some non-tech industries.
None. There is no truth to this. Oracle doesn’t do layoffs!
